A little history:

Subatlantic Celebrates Record Release

This Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16th, Subatlantic is throwing themselves a party. There are two fathers in the band, but this party is for all the members, friends, and supporters, and for how hard they worked together at creating a new record. Subatlantic’s album release party will take place at Rozz Tox in Rock Island, where they will throw an all-ages, free show to thank the Quad Cities and everyone who worked so hard on their new record: Villains.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" Evokes Emotions

From the looks of my newsfeed the past couple of days, I would say a high percentage of the people I know found their way to a movie theater to catch Bohemian Rhapsody. For those of you who haven’t, I offer my reflections. I’ve read a few of the reviews. Most of them say this movie falls short of its goal. I am happy to report that I don’t feel that way. I think those critics might just misunderstand the intention of the movie.

River City Throwdown 2018

Sam Koester is gearing up for his 4th year of River City Throwdown, a day of music dedicated to the MCSA Domestic Violence Shelter. “The decision to get the shelter in involved came from both growing up in a house that had domestic violence in it and wanting to make it about something bigger than ourselves," says Koester. “Music can do amazing things and two of the best things it can do is help heal and bring people from all kinds of walks of life together.“

Local Music I Appreciate: Jenny Lynn Stacy & the Dirty Roosters - Suzy Q

To Preface: there are no "favorites", and there are many bands I love whose albums I either don't have, or don't have a cover...because they were digital downloads, or because someone handed me a burned CD because they wanted me to hear the music before the printed albums were released. These are NOT reviews. I am here to promote the local music scene. That has not changed. The albums are in the order in which I photographed them, nothing more, nothing less.
It is my hope that by sharing these albums, some of you might find a band you haven't heard and check them out!
